Chef Ashley Wilson
Ashley, the founder and chef behind Know Food in the Kitchen, is a California native who grew up surrounded by a large family of passionate cooks with deep roots in the South—Mississippi and Louisiana. Raised by her late single father, she spent countless hours in the kitchen, observing meals come to life. From watching her grandparents and aunt prepare dinners, celebrations, and holiday feasts, her love for cooking began to take shape.
From a young age, Ashley recognized the powerful connection between food and family—the way meals could bring people together and shape social experiences. Wandering grocery store aisles became her playground, sparking inspiration for new dishes and flavor experiments—something she still enjoys to this day.
During her five years living in Marin, California, she was exposed to some of the freshest ingredients and top culinary talent in the country. That time not only deepened her appreciation for high-quality food but also introduced her to the world of wine and spirits that now complements her cooking style.
Now, over 25 years later, Ashley is fully immersed in her dream—creating memorable, social food experiences, one beautifully crafted 9-inch plate at a time. Every dish she serves is seasoned with passion, love, and nourishment—each plate a reminder of why KFK was born.
